You will agree with me that Samson was conceived and delivered with an anointing so strong that he slew a thousand soldiers with a jawbone of an ass. He also was born a judge, a ruler and a commander of the army of Israel. Again, he was born an administrator, a guide, and a man sent as a deliverer to protect the nation of Israel which God had given him. Now this same Samson who carried the doors of the gate of a city, -with the posts and bars- on his back and took to a hill; that same Samson, a man feared by all his enemies due to his formidable power which made him undefeatable, that same man…look at what sexual sin has done to him. Samson, a man who could not be held by any man or kingdom in his day, now brought low by a woman from the pit of hell, making him a puppet in the hand of the enemy. This same man was carried away by fleshly lusts and brought low by immoral interest, desires and lusts of the flesh, eyes and the pride of life. I may not know your height or depth in Christianity, but I know that, ‘the battle is not over, until it is over’, and so, “…let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.”
Samson never had to go to a mountain, perform a sacrifice or fast and pray hard before he got his anointing, he got it from the womb- on a platter of gold. This man never understood that all that he had were connected to his relationship and covenant with God; unfortunately, he lost all on the laps of Delilah. And so, the enemy desiring to know what made Samson the way he was, (supernatural, and unusual)- just as they keep trying daily to know what exactly is in the life of a particular Christian, brother or sister that makes him a successful Christian and believer- then sent Delilah to figure out the puzzle so they could defeat Samson, the enemy of the Philistine. This woman came with all her lustful attitude and behaviour and the moment she entered his life, Samson forgot his anointing, forgot his vision, ministry, call and connection and went for the laps of Delilah who tried severally and pressed daily for an answer to the secret of his power so she could make it known to his enemy who sought his downfall. She kept trying and pursuing after her aim till one day, he couldn’t bear anymore to hold back because she had pressed him sore, and he told her. In that moment, she made him sleep, and called for the lords of the Philistines to come at once. And while they were yet on their way, she caused him to sleep and did shave his hair. And Samson LOST ALL at the laps of this woman.
Today, you see many sisters and brothers in churches all over singing spiritual songs to the Lord who does not recognize their service because they are clothed in iniquity and fornication. They have broken the hedge and now the serpent is ready to bite; they have torn down the hedge of relationship with God, security, order, righteousness, holiness and purity in and out and the serpent is poised to bite- Samson broke the hedge, and ended up an entertainer. In our present day, we have so many entertainers who are no longer after the things of heaven, and so have become entertainers for the world despite their speaking in tongues and worshipping in church. I ask, " Are you one of such entertainers, whom the Lord has left and the Heavens turned their back against not because of stealing, or fighting or quarrelling, but because of IMMORALITY?” In Numbers 25:1-9, Balaam was hired by king Balak to curse Israel so they could fall from their glory but Heaven refused to consent to such a request and in that light, we see God Himself restraining Balaam from carrying out such an evil task. But because heaven refused, Balaam could not curse Israel for king Balak, but kept trying to find ways to curse till he came up with a suggestion that could lead to the easy downfall of these chosen ones. Balaam decided that instead of cursing them with his mouth, they should bring down the wrath of God by themselves. King Balak did all Balaam requested and sent for beautiful women who would dance and seduce the men of Israel into committing abomination before the holy God. These Israelites were enticed and actually consented to be lured into immorality and while in the midst of this pleasure, God’s anger came down. The wickedness was so much that a man actually brought a Midianitish woman from the evil camp into the Holy camp of God. This man was without fear of God; he went in to this woman right there in the sight of God. But then, this pleasure was short-lived, for with it came his death, for Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, took a javelin and thrust it through both the man and the woman and they both died and God’s anger was pacified. But the deed had been done and for the reason of their sin, twenty four thousand men of the camp of Israel lost their lives. This God is holy and his eyes being pure cannot behold iniquity.
God is a jealous God who cannot share his image and likeness (which man connotes) to another. Dare not to live an immoral life because it is one of the worst sins for it involves the body. Every other sins committed by man, involves not the body; but the one done sexually involves the body and spirit. This was the same sin that made God’s anger come down against Sodom and Gomorrah and the world of old that they were destroyed and none spared, save the righteous. Remember that during that time, the sons of God saw the daughters of men (just the way Samson saw Delilah), that they were fair; and they took them for wives of all which they chose. These men took and went into these strange women and this act brought calamity upon mankind. Due to it, God reduced the lifespan of man because His Spirit could no longer strive with man-Genesis 6:1-7, 13. Again, in Genesis 19, we see the angels of the Lord making their way to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, when a righteous man offered them a roof over their heads and a place away from the eyes of the evil men of the city. These angels went with him to his place of abode, but instead of enjoying their stay, the men of the city (which initially was the fear of Lot when he took them in), came to harass them. They came that they might know these men intimately (as against nature itself)! This wicked act of these men brought them their undesired, yet required punishment- the wrath of God. Wickedness done without the body is different from such done in the body, as the latter involves the blood and lifeline of that man.
Why are we spending so much time on the blood of a man as related to the danger of sexual sin? You must know that all that you are, the children you will give birth to and whatsoever you will achieve here on earth is in the blood –Leviticus 17:11. You must also understand that every sexual immorality has your blood (and therefore your destiny) involved; so you can’t actually live free of its repercussions. We have been told to FLEE all forms of sexual immorality –Just the way Joseph fled before Potiphar’s wife, refusing to yield—1 Corinthians 6:18. The Bible says that, “Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” It is a tragedy that even our priests and the rulers are not left out; they too are partakers of the wickedness—Ezra 9:2. And in Ephesians 5:3, Paul, writing to the Christians at Ephesus advised them on this matter saying, “But fornication, and all uncleanliness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints…” We must refuse to have a relationship with all those who are partakers of this wickedness, so as not to become one in thought with them, thereby incurring the wrath of God—1 Corinthians 5:9-13.
In our world of civilization, people request that condoms be distributed free of charge during festivities and celebrations in order to promote sexual sin. Now same sex marriage has been legalized in these countries and men allowed to get married to their male counterparts and women permitted to do same. They are even permitted to be joined in “holy matrimony” to animals, refusing the natural use of the opposite sex in a legalized marriage, and all who go against them are punished severely by the law and government.
Immorality is like a little fire, that when put in a house, can destroy such a house; therefore we must note that in the same way, when a man yields to it, he is destroyed and brought down low. In Proverbs 7:23-25, we hear the proverb of King Solomon concerning a young man who, like many men and women today, went down the way of the wicked immoral woman whose house was the road path to hell and whose speech and flattering lips caused him to yield. He went her way as an ox goeth to the slaughter and as a fool to the correction of the stocks; till a dart was struck through his liver. Solomon advised that no heart be inclined to her ways, so we go not astray in her path, for the house of every immoral man or woman is the next door to hell. But many anointed men of God in all their anointing and strength may claim that they can do anything with their bodies and still retain the anointing. Now to these, I ask, “Are you more anointed than David who was brought down by naked Bathsheba? Or than Samson, who though anointed from the womb, yet was brought low by Delilah and her wooing?” They may claim to be wise enough to know when things are going out of hand, so as to control it but, “…are they much wiser than Solomon, chosen King of Israel, who legally married seven hundred women and had three hundred additional concubines who reduced him to a mere idolater?
God in His wisdom instituted that man and woman should live chaste till they are brought together in legal marriage- Hebrews 13:4. This shows that He is not against marriage between a man and a woman, but that their marriage becomes more honourable when they live chaste till they are brought together. We must pray for grace to finish well for we are yet to arrive at the destination our soul longs after, so why settle for the earthly and trivial things? Jesus is the only One who can keep a person chaste and ready for the phase of marriage. He is the only one who cares for our souls so deeply that He has given us all that pertains to life and godliness. Then why not surrender your all to Him who can keep you ready?
Remember that the Kingdom of God is holy and so without holiness, no man can see the Lord…
REMAIN BLESSED!
